Why I Started Tíwàlàjò

After years of sharing my own adventures and helping others map out theirs, I realized just how many people wanted to travel but didn’t know where to start. Overwhelm, fear, time, and information overload held them back.
Tíwàlàjò was born to change that. I built this business to bridge the gap between the dream and the departure gate. I wanted to help people go further, explore deeper, and do it all with confidence, ease, and joy.

Hi, I’m Titilola Sogunro, the founder of Tíwàlàjò—a luxury travel company rooted in culture, ease, and unforgettable experiences. I’m a travel curator, storyteller, wife, and mom of two, and over the past decade, I’ve explored over 30 countries across 4 continents. From the spice markets of Marrakech to the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean, my travels have shaped how I see the world—and how I help others experience it with intention.
But more than anything, Tíwàlàjò is a calling. This business is something God placed on my heart—an assignment that’s much bigger than me. He is at the center of every decision, every journey, and every experience I craft. My hope is that through these trips, people experience not only the beauty of the world but also glimpses of His grace, wonder, and intentional design.

The Meaning Behind Tíwàlàjò

Tíwàlàjò (pronounced Tee-wah-lah-jo) means “Travel is Ours” in Yoruba, a name that speaks to community, ownership, and confidence. It’s a reminder that travel isn’t just for the few—it’s for us. For women, for families, for dreamers, for professionals. For anyone ready to say yes to the world.

When I chose this name, it wasn’t just about sounding beautiful—it was about claiming space. Our stories belong on every continent. Our joy belongs in every passport stamp. And our healing belongs in every sunset. This name, and this mission, are God-inspired. I believe He calls us to explore, connect, and find Him even in the most unexpected corners of the world. That’s the energy—and divine purpose—I bring into every trip I plan.
